As the founder partner, Richard has been in charge of the day to day running of Fosters of Birmingham since the beginning in 1978.

A keen specimen fisherman Richard travels the world in search of large fish, having recently visited India, South Africa and France.

Mark joined brother Richard in partnership in 1990 after a successful career as a Commercial Bank Manager with TSB Bank Plc. It is therefore of no surprise that Mark handles the financial side of the business as well as helping Richard with the day to day running of the shop.

Gill is the wife of Mark Foster and heads the Accounts and Credit Control Department.

After 10 years behind the counter on the match department, Lee now looks after the highly successful insurance side of our business, replacing gear for unlucky anglers all over the UK. He also handles our sea and fly fishing queries. A rabid Aston Villa fan, he is known to sulk on Saturdays when they lose again. His staple diet tends to involve beer and curries, fishing wise he likes to fish the canals round Birmingham, with caster fishing for quality Roach a particular favourite, also a keen sea angler, with decent Conger, Tope, Blue Shark, Cod, and Rays to his name.

Barry ran his own successful tackle shop for a number of years and is no stranger to winning big matches, with a National Championship Winners Medal to prove his pedigree. He now enjoys fishing in smaller competitions but can still put a good weight of fish together, and has a wide knowledge of the West Midland canal network.

Ade is a highly popular and respected member of our match department, with a straightforward and honest approach to tackle advice. He has a wide range of experience on various venues and methods, and is always willing to help.

Long serving member of staff Scott has his finger firmly on the match fishing pulse. A member of the mighty Kamasan Starlets he has notched up match wins on a variety of venues up and down the country. A regular on the Dutch festival circuit, Scott is a true all round angler who is at home on any venue but cites his favourite method as float fishing on rivers. He is in charge of the Internet Department, and is a very knowledgeable member of staff who is equally popular with customers and staff alike.

Tom originally joined us way back in 1996 as a part timer, becoming a full time member of staff in 2003. After leaving in 2005 he rejoined us in April 2007, and looks after Sensas, Rive and Van Den Eynde and deputises on the internet side of the business. His successes include the BAA Junior Canal & Parks Junior Championships. Tom now dedicates his fishing time solely to local canals and rivers, and rates his favourite method as 'chucking loads of groundbait in and fishing the pole over it for Roach'.

The brother of England coach Mark Downes, Paul is the newest addition to our staff and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience gained on a variety of venues. A founder member of the immensely successful Starlets Team, his achievements are impressive and wide ranging, with countless team titles and individual success to his name. Widely acknowledged as expert in both continental and traditional methods of match fishing, and incredibly popular with staff and customers alike.

Pete has a wide knowledge of many venues and methods across the Midlands. Team fished for Mosella Strike a few years ago but now mainly fishes the local rivers. He also enjoys lure fishing for pike, perch and even chub, and has had much success using this method. Always ready to offer advice in his unique style, and a cornerstone of the match department.

Is known for his expertise and success on the Midlands commercial carp match scene, and regularly frames at Moorlands Farm. A member of the crack SBS Match squad, his preparation and methodical approach has contributed to an impressive record. He regularly records match weights in excess of 100lb and has also banked a 127lb catfish from Spain's River Ebro.

Known as 'Bob the Rod', Bob is the longest serving member of staff, having been with Fosters since they opened in 1978. For everything from award winning custom rods to pole repairs Bob's the man to ask.

Danny has lots of Carp Fishing experience, having fished numerous carp waters in England and France. His personal best carp is 42lb, and is always ready to offer advice to people who ask. Highly popular with regulars of our Specialist Department, and knowledgeable on a wide range of specialist methods.

Joined us as a part-timer many years ago and stayed with us then as a full-timer on the Carp Department. He left to join the fire brigade and now comes in on his days off. He was a regular at Cuttle Mill a few years ago with some good fish to his name.
