Fosters of Birmingham is a family owned business established in 1978 owned and run by brothers Richard and Mark Foster, and Mark's wife Gill. We are one of the largest fishing tackle retailers, mail order and on-line specialists in Europe carrying stock in excess of £1million and employing a staff of around 20, and currently looking to move to a superstore sized shop close to home, which will mean even more items and great deals.

Most of our business centres around Coarse, Match, and Specimen fishing tackle although we also carry significant stocks of both Sea and Game fishing tackle, and are expanding in both of these fields rapidly.

We have a dedicated Insurance claims department that can supply you with an itemised quote for your stolen tackle free of charge. We can also deal with your claim direct with your insurance company or loss adjuster. If we can secure a speedy acceptance for the claim from your insurance company we can often have your tackle replaced and delivered to you on an overnight carrier within days.




Fosters of Birmingham offer a full custom rod building service. All our rods are expertly built by Bob (the Rod) Davies.

Bob has been repairing, restoring, and building rods since he joined Fosters when they first opened in 1978. With nearly 30 years experience, it’s no surprise that Bob has won several 'Best of' awards ( check out our own “Spod Rod”) and accolades for his products. The rods he builds are of a top quality finish, second to none, he builds Carp, Pike, Barbel and any other specialist rods you may require, using only top quality blanks and all the current state of the art fittings.
