Gardner - Incizor Hooks Barbless Size 10
There are points and then there are razor sharp points. The needle point on the Long Shank Incizor is famous for being phenomenally sharp - there's no other way to say this. Quite simply it's a long shank hook in a class of its own. In terms of strength it wipes the floor with other long, straight shank hooks available and has been used by anglers in the know to actually increase their catch rate. Add to this the double tempered point that stays sharper for longer and you realise why this hook is so deadly. When all else fails, reach for the Long Shank Incizor...you'll soon see... Available from Size 6 to Size 10 in Barbed or Barbless.
"Probably the sharpest hook ever. I love long shank hooks and these are just so sharp they're dangerous. An awesome hook!" Ian 'Chemo' Russell
All Gardner hooks are manufactured in Japan to our exact specification. The different patterns are the result of hundreds of hours of design and testing. Crucial variations such as wire diameter, angle of attack and point deflection, eye angle and degree of forging are carefully manipulated in controlled conditions to achieve the very best hooking percentages, holding power and reliability. New patterns then undergo extensive field testing by our team of top anglers for many months on different types of waters; any tweaks and adjustments are incorporated into the final pattern before approval. Gardner hooks undergo a 2 stage tempering process. In the first stage the hooks are heated up to a very high temperature for a short time and then quickly cooled. The second process is much longer and at a much lower temperature. The combination of these two processes ensure that the steel is first purified and the molecular structure is transformed into the perfect state between being too brittle or too soft. Not surprisingly, the exact details are jealously guarded but have a proven track record. The chemical sharpening process guarantees our legendary sharpness together with a point of high Carbon Steel that resists damage against gravel or bone
